Silver success at Shrewsbury

What a weekend it has been! I’m delighted to say our rain garden received a Silver Medal at this year’s prestigious Shrewsbury Flower Show and was showered with praise by the public.

We had a really positive response from everyone who dropped by to see us, and we’d like to thank everyone who came along and gave us such excellent support.

We were really pleased that some of the youngsters from Hope House Hospice were able to join us too.  Now that the show is over, we will be making preparations with the hospice, and the garden’s sponsors, Pugh’s of Shrewsbury, to transport it from the show site to the children’s hospice, which is near Oswestry.

The children were thrilled with our creation, and I’d like to say what a priviledge it has been designing and putting together the garden with them in mind.

It has been an awful lot of hard work – and there’s more to come! – but I am sure it will look wonderful once in place, and we all hope it will provide a lovely spot to play, or just sit and relax for the young people at the hospice, and their families and staff, for many years to come.

So after a thoroughly hectic weekend, it’s back to the office today to catch up with paper work and schedule our busy work load for the Autumn.

We have a few design projects on the go, not to mention preparations for our plant sale on September 10. It’s the only opportunity the public has to come along to the nursery, which is always a really popular event.

As well as some great bargains, there’ll be lots of expert advice on offer too, so please watch this space for more details about the event.
