Green roofs for greener skylines

I had a really valuable visit to Sheffield recently, to find out more about green roofs, and how I can be planning them into my designs.

Working alongside the GreenSky team at Boningale, I’m familiar with the work they’re doing on plant plugs and substrates suitable to sustain a thriving green roof, but to get the chance to see so many different schemes close-up, as it were, really helped fire my imagination.

I’ll be blogging more on the subject in the near future, but for now, I wanted to share some of the things we saw on the trip, which included a visit to the pioneering Green Roof Centre at the University of Sheffield.
